World Disability Day

The World Disability Day was on 3rd December 2010.

Let's consider the special part of the society as our own. We as the citizens of this world ought to
take pledge against ill treatment of these individuals and accept them as they are.

May God bless all of us.

Vivek Oberoi (Leading the Youth by Example)

InnerScape, an International Youth Fest for the Mentally and Physically Challenged on its wayof making these specially abled children an integral part of the society recognizes various eminent personalities who are working whole heartedly towards the cause. They inspite of their fame and glamour work for the downtrodden and neglected areas where others just don’t want to work. One such personality which Innerscape recognizes this year is Mr. Vivek Oberoi.

WHY HE'S DOING IT: "Vivek wants the children not to grow with hate and anger in their hearts. Vivek feels everybody needs to do their own bit in helping get the children a healthier and brighter future."

Vivek Anand Oberoi (विवेक ओबरॉय), born 3 September 1976 in Hyderabad is an Indian actor and social activist. He is the son of Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi.

Oberoi serves as the World Health Organization's anti-tobacco spokesperson. He is involved with several charities in Chennai and Mumbai. His work with Project Hope to bring relief to victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami earned him a Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International.

He was honoured by the Rotary International with a `Good Samaritan Award' for his humanitarian support and help rendered to people in tsunami affected Devanampattinam village in Cuddalore.

Mr. Oberoi received the award from the Rotary International district governor, Benjamin Cherian, during the district conference `Utsav-2005'.

He recalled the case of a father who was unable to get relief though he lost all the money he had saved for his son's heart surgery. Mr. Oberoi later helped the boy to undergo surgery.

Vivek is the ambassador for Project DEVI (Development and Empowerment of Vrindavan Girls Initiative).

City Montessori School, Mahanagar salutes this dedicated personality and wishes him all the best for his future endeavors.

Towards Zenith

Mrs. Nalini Sharad, Principal of City Montessori School, Mahanagar Campus I & IV is striving hard to put her campus to the heights which will set an example for other campuses of the school to follow. In her constant efforts towards achieving excellence for her campus, she is working hard to touch the zenith.

She is leaving no stone unturned to make her ambitious initiative, ‘INNERSCAPE’, a real world class event. Not going along with the league, she proved that there is still someone who cares for the mentally challenged. Although the path towards perfection is not that easy as someone may perceive it to be. But as they say, hard work leads to success; it is true in this case.

With UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization) recognizing ‘INNERSCAPE 2010’ as an event which encourages cultural harmony and provides a platform for the special children to showcase their abilities, it also helps people to realize that these special children are not a burden on the society but a part of it.

Mrs. Nalini Sharad constantly strives to bridge this gap. She has been successful in her attempts but as it seems she is not going to stop before she attains what INNERSCAPE was started for, a just place in the society for the specially abled children.

Letter of Invitation :: INNERSCAPE 2010

Letter of Invitation

Dear Friends,

After the stupendous success and the overwhelming response to our maiden venture Innerscape 2008 I take immense pleasure in welcoming you all to the Third International mega event INNERSCAPE 2010 - organised by City Montessori School, Mahanagar, Lucknow India.

This event is exclusively reserved for participants from around the world who are mentally or visually challenged. When we see these children coming together without caring for any manmade barriers of prejudice, caste, colour, creed , class, religious practices or nationalistic goals; we are filled with hope because we know that these children will one day surely change the world and their efforts will create a new united global family.

We at CMS believe that such interactions between the students from different parts of the world with different socio-economic or cultural background would help in breaking all kinds of barriers, which inhibits us from embracing one culture - the culture of humanity, the culture of love and brotherhood, which would usher in peace and prosperity in the world.

The event is scheduled for 19-21 , December 2010 in Lucknow. We look forward to the participation of wards under your guidance and care at this event. There is no age restriction for the participants.

While in Lucknow, all expenses for the entire team, including Team Leaders and Guides, will be borne by City Montessori School.

The teams are only responsible for their travel to and from the city of Lucknow. All local transportation, boarding and lodging, while in Lucknow, will be the responsibility of the hosts free of cost. There is no registration fee.
