World Disability Day

The World Disability Day was on 3rd December 2010.

Let's consider the special part of the society as our own. We as the citizens of this world ought to
take pledge against ill treatment of these individuals and accept them as they are.

May God bless all of us.

Vivek Oberoi (Leading the Youth by Example)

InnerScape, an International Youth Fest for the Mentally and Physically Challenged on its wayof making these specially abled children an integral part of the society recognizes various eminent personalities who are working whole heartedly towards the cause. They inspite of their fame and glamour work for the downtrodden and neglected areas where others just don’t want to work. One such personality which Innerscape recognizes this year is Mr. Vivek Oberoi.

WHY HE'S DOING IT: "Vivek wants the children not to grow with hate and anger in their hearts. Vivek feels everybody needs to do their own bit in helping get the children a healthier and brighter future."

Vivek Anand Oberoi (विवेक ओबरॉय), born 3 September 1976 in Hyderabad is an Indian actor and social activist. He is the son of Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi.

Oberoi serves as the World Health Organization's anti-tobacco spokesperson. He is involved with several charities in Chennai and Mumbai. His work with Project Hope to bring relief to victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami earned him a Good Samaritan Award from Rotary International.

He was honoured by the Rotary International with a `Good Samaritan Award' for his humanitarian support and help rendered to people in tsunami affected Devanampattinam village in Cuddalore.

Mr. Oberoi received the award from the Rotary International district governor, Benjamin Cherian, during the district conference `Utsav-2005'.

He recalled the case of a father who was unable to get relief though he lost all the money he had saved for his son's heart surgery. Mr. Oberoi later helped the boy to undergo surgery.

Vivek is the ambassador for Project DEVI (Development and Empowerment of Vrindavan Girls Initiative).

City Montessori School, Mahanagar salutes this dedicated personality and wishes him all the best for his future endeavors.
